Liga MX

Liga MX is the top professional football (soccer) division in Mexico. It serves as the highest level of competition in the Mexican football league system and is recognized by the Mexican Football Federation. Liga MX comprises a number of teams, often referred to as clubs, which compete annually for the championship title. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the league below it, known as Ascenso MX.

The structure of Liga MX includes two main tournaments each year: the Apertura, which starts in the second half of the calendar year, and the Clausura, which begins in the first half of the following year. Teams earn points during the regular season, and the top-performing teams qualify for the playoffs, known as “Liguilla,” culminating in a final match to determine the league champion. Liga MX is known for its passionate fanbase, high level of competitiveness, and significant financial resources, including lucrative broadcasting deals and player transfers. The league has a rich history and has produced many notable players who have made impacts both nationally and internationally.
